Dancing Till Eternity

Amidst the snowflakes we could really feel,
Around the little hearts we could clearly see,
Among the chirps we could easily hear,
We would be dancing without any fear.

Oblivious to those blindfolded eyes,
Unbeknownst to the balance she holds,
Far from the streets of right and wrong,
We would be dancing without a song.

Above the labyrinths engraved in sand,
Above the fences hiding in the air,
Beyond the revered land of columns and rows,
We would be dancing amongst highs and lows.

Far from the rhythms of yes’s and no’s,
Far from the whispers of laws silly,
Far from the world of “them” and “us”,
We would finally be dancing
As you and me.

The Tragedy Of Thoughts

Thoughts!
Falling on the head
Like fierce raindrops.
Totally unafraid
Like a slinky on the top.

Thoughts!
Travelling to and fro
From molecules to the space.
Taking intricate snapshots
From place to place.

Thoughts!
Waiting to reveal
The stories unearthed.
Like an innocent child
With an unending thirst.

But the master!
He closes all the windows
To shield the child?
And then makes silly innuendos
Keeping those stories mild.
The innocent screams
Become mannered talks.
And the child tamed as a captive.
Well! That’s the way people flock.

The Dark Castle

869c46629ff4579b14c0ee0618cf2955

While strolling in the jungles of my mind,
A beautiful castle I designed.
A surreal ambiance with conspicuous lights
Rescued me from the daily freights.

Each moment in the castle was golden.
I, me and myself were emboldened.
We would lock the castle from the insides
And embark upon some pretty wild rides.

Each thought was about the castle.
Each day was without a wrestle.
The castle was my four leaf clover.
As the hard times were finally over.

But one day, the sun began to set.
And my cells began to fret.
Since they had breathed the “holy” air,
They just didn’t seem to care.

Helpless, I locked myself inside the castle
Each moment brought greater hassle.
Me and myself went different ways
And I was left alone in the sadist haze.

I used to scream desperately.
But it would just echo back and pierce me.
The cries and tears were of no avail.
‘Cause even the air had been veiled.

With my limited senses, I planned escape.
But the key was lost and the ceilings taped.
Finally, I mustered courage and broke the walls.
There I was, recovering from the fatal fall.

Days were hard and relationships awful.
Like a pariah, I was deemed unlawful.
Me and myself were done with their muse.
‘Cause I was recovering which was the best news.
Eventually, I learnt to love the wrestle.
‘Cause I knew there was never a beautiful castle.

The Unexpected

The-Unexpected

Caffeine, nicotine and a heavy mind
Took me up towards the skylines.
97 steps climbed in full pleasure.
The breeze was still, but enjoyed in leisure.
The stars seemed to mock the nutcase.
But my rock steady legs left the base.

4th floor passed by and it felt great.
The cool wind was loving me,
And I reciprocated the emotions duly.
3rd floor and a loss of weight.
Thank you God for the beautiful days,
From the quizzing to the musical phase.

2nd floor and the ground was near.
Forgive me mom, Forgive me dad.
For your son was a broken lad.
1st floor and there was no fear.
With an unperturbed guise,
I was about to close my eyes.

But, the ground suddenly ripped apart.
And a galore of creepy snakes took its place,
With shining fangs, ready to leave no trace.
Horror had kissed me like a poisoned dart.
My rock steady legs were moving in a trance.
From the ugly grip of terror, I woke up, still in trance.

Wiping off the sweat, I asked Him
“Of so many minions, Why snakes?”
Came the fitting reply,
“Because it was unexpected.
And it’s the unexpected,
That acts as a drive,
Which keeps one alive.”

My Tattered Shoes

I was given a pair of shoes as a gift.
For me, they were a perfect fit.
A new found happiness for a child unrestrained,
Rejoicing and dancing, as if heavens just rained.

Adorned they were by a few holes in them,
From where the colors of sunshine peeped in.
Uncomely they were for the eyes outside.
But for me, they were nothing less than true pride.

I could walk anyway I wanted
Ebullient, I was the least daunted.
But those shoes, they defied society’s yardstick.
And so I discarded them for a “fancy” pick.

I walked the way I was taught.
Even when I was clearly fraught.
My countenance did betray the thoughts within.
But I was not the one to give in.

Following a toy soldier, I tried to stand undefeated.
Carrying the load I was clearly heat treated.
But never did I lose my sangfroid.
Even when I was awfully annoyed.

But now after all these civilized years,
And all these unperturbed tears,
I yearn for those tattered shoes,
Which aptly taught me the ones and twos.

So when you see my composure wail,
Or when my steps are frigid and frail,
Remind me of my tattered shoes,
And I’ll be dancing and singing the blues.
‘Cause I’m sure I can pay all my dues
When I’m truly in my own tattered shoes.

Where Is My Pen?

quote-the-more-we-understand-what-is-happening-in-the-world-the-more-frustrated-we-often-become-c-wright-mills-82-55-09

A 7 year old raped brutally.
The students beaten mercilessly.
Crores laundered in the scam.
And democracy is now a sham!

Religion, a reverent affair.
Is now a sacred weapon.
Regularly fired in the air,
Its bullets, claiming tons.

And naivety is not more than a facade.
With everyone playing equal parts.
‘Cause the decent naives,
Are meditating in their graves.

The leaves are withering.
And the birds have flown.
But things are burgeoning.
As our society has “positively grown”.

I’ll write an honest account,
Of things that always haunt.
But where is my pen?
Oh! I forgot!
It belongs to “them”.

Innocence Defeated Again!

clueless

I saw him walking the same road
Like creepers climbing the tall trees.
Feeling the sky getting closer,
Feeling the highly alluring breeze.

The same alluring breeze
Was playing the treacherous trick.
The scintillating aroma,
With layers so slick.

Along that superficial road
Were all the hypnotic eyes waiting.
Their sly vision never blurred,
As his android feet were moving.

His enervated body
Thirsty for a drop of the potion,
Just followed the wind.
Oh! That wonderful notion!

But little did he know
About this aspect of life.
Simulating a happy surprise,
Stabbing with a sharp knife.

Collecting all my might,
I screamed at him.
“Listen to me buddy!
Don’t submit to your whim”.

A voice from behind me,
Chuckled calmly in my ears.
“You know he can’t hear you.
Let him face his fears”.

I looked at my mouth zipped,
As the innocent died.
Once again we had won.
Once again a monster would rise!

Wish A Always Equaled A

how-beautiful-the-world-is-and-how-ugly-labyrinths-are-i-said-relieved-how-beautiful-the-world-would-be-if-there-was-a-procedure-for-moving-through-labyrinths-my-master-replied

Wish water was always calm,
And the sky was always blue.
Wish a smile always meant happiness,
And words were always true.

Wish a veil could show
What it really hides.
And the walls could speak
The secrets they confide.

Wish red always meant a sweet rose,
And not the images of gore and blood.
Wish nature always implied a beautiful cascade,
And not the images of landslides and flood.

Wish A always equaled A
And B always equaled B.
Then I guess, we all could see,
How beautiful this place can be.

The Pied Piper

pied-piper-art

Raise your head up,
And repeat after me.
“All along we go
Fueling the piper’s spree”

Leave your reasons behind,
And bring your manners along.
Just nod your head,
And sing the piper’s song.

Calculated smiles,
And fake glows.
Clap your hands,
And enjoy the show.

Try to leave the herd,
And make your own way.
Before you know,
You’re in for another piper’s play.

In the end, they will say,
It was all a game.
We avoided failure
And got the “fame”.

But, what is failure?
And what is fame?
Absolute entities?
Or just pawns of the game?

Till then, just nod along.
Sing the piper’s song.
And repeat after me.
“I am proud to be free!”

Brotherhood of the World Blogger Award

image21

Hello everyone! How are you all doing? I hope everything’s great & in full enthusiasm. So, I have been nominated for the BROTHERHOOD OF THE WORLD BLOGGER AWARD (for the third time) by Nimmi (whose page you must check out for some really honest heart felt pieces), for which I’m really grateful. Thank you Nimmi! It feels really good when you open your wordpress account (or any other account for that matter) & see that someone has nominated you (or in other words, remembered you), even when you haven’t actually met him/her in your life. I guess that’s why blogging is such a nice thing to do.
So, coming back to the topic, I hope I give appropriate & just answers. Here they are:-

1. What are your other hobbies besides blogging?

Ans:- Besides blogging, I am a big music & movies fan. So, my hobbies (besides blogging) are listening to songs & watching movies from every genre I can get my hands on. Also, I love to sing songs & copy different artists in most weird ways I can imagine. Plus, I love reading novels too.

2. Do you like to travel? A lot or occasionally?

Ans:- Yes, I do. But sadly, I have traveled only when I had to go somewhere for some work. But, I hope of going on a solo trip someday. Let’s see when that day comes.

3. What would you realistically like to be in the future? What would you want to be in fantasy?

Ans:- Realistically, I don’t know. But, in fantasy, I’d love to be the lead vocalist & the songwriter of a rock band (preferably a classic or hard rock band without the electronic sounds).

4. If you were to play a role in a suspense thriller, which role would you play? Protagonist/antagonist/anti-hero?

Ans:- Suspense thriller? A genre I love! I guess there are many roles I’d like to play (which again is a fantasy because most of these roles are impeccably played by great actors that they can’t be repeated by anyone else, let alone me) like Dr. Hannibal Lecter (played by Sir Anthony Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs), Max Cady (played by Robert De Niro in Cape Fear), the common man (played by naseeruddin shah in A Wednesday!) & many more.

5. If you were to be a teacher, which virtue or ideal you would teach your children one day?

Ans:- I definitely don’t know that. I guess I would have learned what to teach them by then.

6. Which is your all-time favorite non-fiction book?

Ans:- I generally prefer fiction books & have read very few non fiction ones. But, to answer your question, I’ll say Dongri To Dubai by Hussain Zaidi.

7. Which is your all time favorite music band/artist?

Ans:- There are many! Kishore Kumar, Sonu Nigam, Shankar Mahadevan, K J Yesudas, Euphoria, Parikrama, Guns N’ Roses, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, The Eagles, Coldplay & many many more.

8. Do you love the sea and benches or mountains and hikes?

Ans:- Never been to mountains & hikes. So, sea & the beaches it is.

9. Which song describes your present state of mind?

Ans:- “Wake Up Sid, Saare Pal Kahein….”

10. Which fundamental principal you follow in your greyish journey of life?

Ans:- I don’t know which principle I follow when. But, I guess it is a mixture of different principles. It’s like whichever logic I find suitable in a particular situation, I apply it.

So, I hope I have given justified & interesting answers. And for those who would like to answer these questions, consider yourself nominated. These are the rules:-

1) Thank and link back to the person who nominated you for the award.
2) List the Rules and Display the Brotherhood of the world Award logo to your post and/or blog.
3) Answer the questions sent to you and then you may create your set of questions for your nominees.
