One Lovely Blog Award!! : Thank You

Hello everybody. I hope everything’s awesome. It is a real pleasure to be awarded the “One Lovely Blog Award!!” by this super talented blogger Krati Arora who paints life using words. For me, every post on her blog adds another new word to my dictionary. Do visit her blog, for you should not miss something like this. Thank you so much for the nomination, Krati. 🙂

So, I need to state 7 things about myself. Though, I’ve already mentioned similar stuff on a different post, I’ll do it again and will try not to repeat stuff. I hope I don’t bore you (Fingers Crossed).

  1. I have recently started cooking just out of necessity, and I think I’ve got kind of good at it. One thing’s for certain :- I enjoy cooking now as it gives me ample opportunity to experiment! 😛
  2. I have watched thousands of movies till date (hollywood+bollywood+”otherwood’s”) but I haven’t watched “Sholay” yet. I know, I know!!
  3. I consider myself a “Jack of all trades and master of none”. Seriously!
  4. Most of the times I write, I end up writing something I hadn’t planned because there are n number of things going on my mind in one moment (where n approaches infinity) 😛
  5. I love bubble wraps so much that it is the main reason why I started buying books online. I realized later that they are cheaper online (most of the time). Weird, isn’t it?
  6. I was one of the most awkward kids at school, often sleeping in classes and getting punished.
  7. I want to see Kerala, Kashmir & Pakistan before I die. There are other places too, but these are at the top.

These were 7 random facts about me. I hope you enjoyed the post because I did. It was really fun writing this. Now, I need to nominate people, which I can’t do. So, I nominate everyone who is reading this post. Do it because you’ll definitely enjoy it.

Here are the rules:-

  • Write a post to accept this nomination.
  • Thank the person who nominated you and mention their blog link.
  • List 7 things about yourself.
  • Mention the links of the blogs you further nominate.
  • Notify the recipients of their award.
  • Post these rules again.

Waiting for the answers. Thank you so much. Be safe and have fun!! 🙂

The Liebster Award

wpid-wp-1446136883684

Hello! 🙂
I’ve been nominated for “The Liebster Award” by a wonderful blogger Muskan. Thanks a lot for the nomination, Muskan & sorry for being a bit late.
So, according to the rules, I have to state eight random facts about me & then answer a bunch of questions asked by her.

Eight random facts about me:-

1. I am a 21 years old graduate working in a manufacturing company in Pune that produces automotive parts among many other things.

2. I am a huge music loving person & I am a big fan of rock bands such as The Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Eagles, Poets of The Fall, Linkin Park, Coldplay, One Republic & many many others. And, I think their lyrics inspire me to write. I also like musicians such as Shankar Ehsan Loy, Salim Sulaiman, A.R.Rehman, Amit Trivedi, etc. In a nutshell, I like songs of almost every kind.

3. I love to sing (to myself generally). I was the lead singer of our college band which we called “The Broken Sticks” (because our drummer used to break a lot of drumsticks while practicing). Sadly, we all went different ways after college and now I miss them a lot.

4. I can’t stand when people waste food. And every time someone throws food off their plates in front of me, I end up giving him/her a free lecture. I don’t know why I do that.

5. I love watching movies of all genres. I currently have around 50 “to watch movies” which I don’t know when I’ll watch.

6. I am quiet at first but if you know me, I won’t let you be quiet & will constantly annoy you with pj’s , mimicries, caricatures and all. I like to join two entirely different situations and then crack jokes on the combo.

7. I am a huge huge fan of F.R.I.E.N.D.S and Chandler is my idol 😛 . I mean I dream of cracking utterly sarcastic jokes with the best timing, like him, someday.

8. I love Agatha Christie novels and each time I finish one, I wonder how the hell could she think that much. It’s unbelievable. For the same reason, I love Sidney Sheldon too.

(Hang On! There’s more)

The questions asked are:-

1. How many books have you read till date? Which is your favorite?
A: I’m not sure but maybe 30-35 books. MY favorite book(s) are:- To Kill A Mocking Bird, Pride & Prejudice, The Godfather, And Then There Were None, The Devotion of Suspect X and Harry Potter series (obviously). I’m sorry to have mentioned more than one name. 🙂

2. Which song is the most played on your playlist right now?
A: Right now, it’s an instrumental acoustic guitar piece called “Can You Stop The Rain” by Les Sabler. It’s a magical piece. Here it is for those who are interested:-  Can You Stop The Rain

3. Have you ever been stalked? Like in real life?
A: Haha..nice question. But I haven’t been yet, unfortunately. Had I been stalked, me and my stalker would definitely be friends by now. 😛

4. What is your deepest desire?
A: To have my own studio where I’ll hold jamming sessions. I wrote a poem actually regarding this desire of mine :- A Place For My Tunes

5. Are you a better speaker or listener?
A: It depends on the situation I’m in. I can be both or neither one of them sometimes.

6. Which F.R.I.E.N.D.S character do you relate yourself to the most?
A: I think I relate to Joey and Chandler both. Joey, because of my love towards food and mouth watering dishes and Chandler because I love to crack jokes (although not as good as Mr. Perry has done as Chandler).

7. A memorable quote?
A: There was a movie called “Shawshank Redemption”. In that movie, there was a quote something like this:- “Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things. And no good thing should ever die”. This line, esp in reference to the movie, is just amazing.

8. A girl you had the biggest fight with months ago turns out of the blue and behaves like nothing happened. What do you do?
A: I guess I’ll ignore her at first but then I’ll get back to normal depending upon her response. Seriously speaking, I don’t know what I’ll do because my fights don’t last longer than a day.

So, here were the answers. I guess I did not make anyone fall asleep by such a long post. And Muskan, I hope the answers were up to the mark. And thanks again for nominating me.. 🙂 🙂 🙂

So, thank you for reading and Happy Diwali everyone!! Be safe and enjoy! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Brotherhood of the World Blogger Award

image21

Hello everyone! How are you all doing? I hope everything’s great & in full enthusiasm. So, I have been nominated for the BROTHERHOOD OF THE WORLD BLOGGER AWARD (for the third time) by Nimmi (whose page you must check out for some really honest heart felt pieces), for which I’m really grateful. Thank you Nimmi! It feels really good when you open your wordpress account (or any other account for that matter) & see that someone has nominated you (or in other words, remembered you), even when you haven’t actually met him/her in your life. I guess that’s why blogging is such a nice thing to do.
So, coming back to the topic, I hope I give appropriate & just answers. Here they are:-

1. What are your other hobbies besides blogging?

Ans:- Besides blogging, I am a big music & movies fan. So, my hobbies (besides blogging) are listening to songs & watching movies from every genre I can get my hands on. Also, I love to sing songs & copy different artists in most weird ways I can imagine. Plus, I love reading novels too.

2. Do you like to travel? A lot or occasionally?

Ans:- Yes, I do. But sadly, I have traveled only when I had to go somewhere for some work. But, I hope of going on a solo trip someday. Let’s see when that day comes.

3. What would you realistically like to be in the future? What would you want to be in fantasy?

Ans:- Realistically, I don’t know. But, in fantasy, I’d love to be the lead vocalist & the songwriter of a rock band (preferably a classic or hard rock band without the electronic sounds).

4. If you were to play a role in a suspense thriller, which role would you play? Protagonist/antagonist/anti-hero?

Ans:- Suspense thriller? A genre I love! I guess there are many roles I’d like to play (which again is a fantasy because most of these roles are impeccably played by great actors that they can’t be repeated by anyone else, let alone me) like Dr. Hannibal Lecter (played by Sir Anthony Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs), Max Cady (played by Robert De Niro in Cape Fear), the common man (played by naseeruddin shah in A Wednesday!) & many more.

5. If you were to be a teacher, which virtue or ideal you would teach your children one day?

Ans:- I definitely don’t know that. I guess I would have learned what to teach them by then.

6. Which is your all-time favorite non-fiction book?

Ans:- I generally prefer fiction books & have read very few non fiction ones. But, to answer your question, I’ll say Dongri To Dubai by Hussain Zaidi.

7. Which is your all time favorite music band/artist?

Ans:- There are many! Kishore Kumar, Sonu Nigam, Shankar Mahadevan, K J Yesudas, Euphoria, Parikrama, Guns N’ Roses, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, The Eagles, Coldplay & many many more.

8. Do you love the sea and benches or mountains and hikes?

Ans:- Never been to mountains & hikes. So, sea & the beaches it is.

9. Which song describes your present state of mind?

Ans:- “Wake Up Sid, Saare Pal Kahein….”

10. Which fundamental principal you follow in your greyish journey of life?

Ans:- I don’t know which principle I follow when. But, I guess it is a mixture of different principles. It’s like whichever logic I find suitable in a particular situation, I apply it.

So, I hope I have given justified & interesting answers. And for those who would like to answer these questions, consider yourself nominated. These are the rules:-

1) Thank and link back to the person who nominated you for the award.
2) List the Rules and Display the Brotherhood of the world Award logo to your post and/or blog.
3) Answer the questions sent to you and then you may create your set of questions for your nominees.
4) Nominate other bloggers and let them know about the award.

Have fun & keep smiling!! 🙂

The Sunshine Blogger Award

image

Hello people! So, I’ve been nominated for an award called The Sunshine Bloggers Award by a wonderful and creative blogger Soumya. Visit her blog for some heart felt poetry. Thank you Soumya!
Here are my answers :-

1. Why are you here on WordPress?
Ans – I am here on WordPress to blog, I guess. And, why do I blog? I guess because it is a healthy hobby to write and interact with fellow writers and know about their perspective on different things.

2. Who is your favourite author and why?
Ans – I am not into reading much, sadly. Among the books I’ve read, my favourite authors are – Harper Lee (Only one book of hers I’ve read though – To kill a mockingbird) and Agatha Christie (I’m a big thriller fan)

3. What’s on your mind now?
Ans – To be frank, I’m thinking whether the answer to the previous question is longer than required or is it okay..haha!!

4. What do you want from life?
Ans – I’ve got plenty of time to think about that (i’m very unambitious and i’m not sure whether it’s even a word or not 😛 )
For the time being, I just want to explore things and have some experiences, bitter or sweet.

5. Sweet or savoury?
Ans – Depends on the mood. But, I think I prefer savoury more than sweet.

6. What keeps you going during tough times?
Ans – I don’t know. I guess my faith on god and the fact that I can always come back home even after committing a crime (not in a literal sense!)

7. Your favourite quote?
Ans – I’m not sure if a movie line qualifies for a quote or not. But, there’s a movie called ‘V for Vendetta’ which talks about freedom and overthrowing the government and covers many other themes. It is a must watch for everyone. There’s a character ‘V’ whose line is –
“Beneath this mask, there is more than flesh. Beneath this mask, there are ideas. And ideas are bulletproof.”
This is one of my most favourite lines.

So, I guess that’s it. I hope you enjoyed the answers. And regarding my nominations, I nominate everyone who is reading this post to answer the questions which were given to me. Needless to say, it’s not obligatory. But, try it. It’ll be fun.

3. Nominate some other bloggers for this award.
4. Write the same amount of questions for the bloggers you have nominated.
5. Notify the bloggers you have nominated.

So, keep blogging, keep writing and keep smiling! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Brotherhood Of The World Blogger Award

image21

Thanks a ton Prakash Sir for nominating me for the Brotherhood Of The World Blogger Award  which is the second time I’ve been nominated. It’s an honor to have been nominated by you. Do check out his blog for some genuinely creative stuff. Sir, I hope I give the suitable answers. 🙂

1. Which one suits you best – yo or yo yo?

Ans – I’m not a hip-hop person so yo or yo yo is something I can’t select from. But, choosing yo-yo would be great because I’ve seen people doing tricks on the yo-yo. Haha!! 😀

2. Are you a yay or a whatever person?

Ans – Depending on the situation, mood and the level of excitement, I can be both.

3. What is your idea of a flop movie?

Ans – A movie filled only with masala, item songs, no story and cheap humor should always be a flop (which is not the case, sadly). Overall, I guess a movie should be thought provoking for it to be a hit.

4. Bike or car?

Ans – When I’m driving – bike. When someone else is driving – car.

5. Sunny evening, five best friends and what?

Ans – And roaming around here and there reminiscing about the old days and playing pranks, maybe.

6. “Game of Thrones”. Yes or No?

Ans – Definitely yes. No reason to go for a ‘no’.

7. You and your only best friend. Walk or movie or other?

Ans – Me and my only best friend – choose a good location, bring some stuff and start chatting.

8. Chess or carrom?

Ans – Chess.

9. How good chef are you?

Ans – The only thing I knew how to cook has recently been banned by the government (if you know what I mean). So, I learned how to cook an omlette and that’s the only cooking I know. So, I guess it makes me a wonderful chef. Hehe!! 🙂 😛 😀

10. Short and crisp or long and descriptive?

Ans – Short and crisp because it maintains the thrill and can never be boring.

So, these were my answers. I guess you enjoyed the post. Feel free to comment. Those who’d like to answer these questions, consider yourself nominated.

The rules are:-

1) Thank and link back to the person who nominated you for the award.

2) List the Rules and Display the Brotherhood of the world Award logo to your post and/or blog.

3) Answer the questions set to you and then you may create your set of questions for your nominees.

4) Nominate around ten other bloggers and let them know about the award.

Keep writing. Keep blogging. Keep smiling and keep spreading happiness. 🙂

Brotherhood of the World

image21

Thanks a lot Ameena for nominating me for the brotherhood of the world bloggers award, which, I accept gladly. It’s the first time I have been nominated for an award and it feels good. To tell the truth though, I tend to give pretty boring answers to open ended questions. Nevertheless, I’ll give it a shot. So, here are my answers:-

1. What is your favorite book?
Naming one book is quite tough. So, I’ll name three 😛
(i) The Godfather by Mario Puzo
(ii) To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee
(iii)Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen

2. Why do you blog?
Why do I blog? Well! I have always been a guy who hesitates a lot when sharing what he writes. So, I seldom showed my poems to anyone. One day, while surfing the net, I came across a wordpress blog and I really liked the community and the whole concept of blogging. And, I started this page. So, in a nutshell, I blog because people give honest replies, they don’t judge you unnecessarily & I really love my community. 🙂

3. Define love according to you?
A tough question! Love, according to me, is a feeling which makes us care about someone unconditionally.

4. If you had to choose one – fiction, non-fiction, poetry, which would you choose and why?
I’d definitely choose poetry because poetry, (as Meena Ma’am once wrote), is nothing but emotions packed in verses. A world of emotions can be painted in just a few lines. Poems can just take you to a different place in a moment. They captivate you. And, I think that’s the beauty of poetry.

5. Characteristic of your ideal woman?
Seriously, I have never thought of that. All I can say is that when I think of an ideal woman, I think of an angel. So, I guess, an ideal woman would be an angel (in disguise, maybe! 😛 )

6. Life is – a roller coaster, mountain climb, landslide, other?
I’ll go with roller coaster because, the beauty of roller coaster rides is that there is constant thrill and you never know which turn the carriage (or whatever it is called) will take next & the same applies to life. Plus, after the ride, we all leave happily. And, I guess same happens with life. In the end, we all leave contended.

7. Favorite author?
Again, naming one would be difficult. So, my favorite authors are:-
(i) Mario Puzo.
(ii) Agatha Christie.
(iii)Munshi Premchand.
(iv) Jane Austen.

8. What legacy would you like to leave?
Again, never thought of that. But, I guess I won’t leave anyone despising or hating me. 🙂

And, thanks a lot again for nominating me, Ameena . Answering the questions was fun & challenging and I loved the questions.
